Screenings & Evaluations
We pride ourselves in not only looking at the child through one lens, but looking at the child as a whole. We provide a comprehensive and customized assessment that will lead to an age-appropriate and individualized treatment plan.
During the evaluation, your therapist will begin with a case history and explore your child's speech and language development with you. They will look at different skills that appear to be a strength and challenge for your child through informal observation, standardized measures, and parent report. The length of an assessment can range from an hour to two hours (not including writing time) depending on the needs of your child.
Following the written report, a phone call will be scheduled to discuss the findings with the parent/caregiver of the child. We will go over goals, recommendations, and finalize the treatment plan with you that will eventually be the focus of your child's therapy sessions.
If your child has been evaluated by another therapist, please provide us a copy of the report to begin services.
Individual Speech Language Therapy
We offer 30 and 60 minute speech-language treatment sessions for infants, toddlers, and adolescents. Frequency and duration for your child's therapy is based on his or her needs and may change as your child progresses.
All our clients will provided with an individualized, age-appropriate treatment plan that is customized to motivate your child to meet his or her needs. We believe caregivers and other important people in your child's life are also part of the team, as your child's therapist will not always be there. Therefore, we provide education, home plans, and ideas for you to help support your child's skills in their every day environment!
It may sound like your child is having a lot of fun, but don't worry...we are also working towards reaching those goals! Using both structured and unstructured play and activities, we use a variety of methods and therapy techniques to make therapy fun!
